6mm-225 (P.O. Ackley Data)

Warning! Notes: Standard twist: 10". Special twist: 12". This cartridge is made by simply necking up the new .225 Winchester to 6mm. The so-called Improved 6mm-30-30 has been a very successful cartridge, but being quite similar to the .225 Winchester is much more practical to use the new .225 case and simply neck it up. The 6mm-225 is an exceptionally good cartridge for the Model 99 Savage lever action and for the single-shot actions. The following loads were checked out in a single-shot rifle with a 26" barrel and the maximum loads listed may be too hot for some other rifles. (Handbook for Shooters & Reloaders/Vol. 2 - P.O.
