Warning! Notes: Loads in this table are for Model 1898 Mauser rifles in good condition, not for 1888 Commission rifles or other pre-1898 rifles, even if converted to 8x57mm JS ammunition. Older Mauser commercial rifles should be checked to be sure they use 0.323-inch bullets - all loads above were developed for this diameter of bullet. (Caution: all above loads are to be considered a report, not a recommendation. Attempts to copy them must pivot on equal or longer overall loaded length in rifles with at least a quarter inch of freebore or long-throating. Not for use in 1888 Commission rifle.)
