.35 Brown-Whelen (P.O. Ackley Data) |
Warning! Notes: Standard twist: 14"; special twist: 16". This is another .35 calibre cartridge based on the .30-06 case. It gives more velocity than the Improved Whelen but the cases are hard to make. It is necessary to neck up the .06 brass to .40 calibre (straight), then back down to .35 with a short neck. This makes a case almost exactly like the Improved Whelen except it has a longer body and shorter neck making it hold a little more powder. (Handbook for Shooters & Reloaders/Vol. 1 - P.O. Ackley, 1962) NOTE: USE THIS DATA WITH EXTREME CAUTION |
