| Warning! Notes: Handloads were made up in Hornady cases with Federal 205 Match primers. Velocity from the 20-inch barrel was taken 15 feet from the muzzle with an Oehler 34/50 chronograph and screens, and has been converted to muzzle velocity. Test temperature, 70 degrees F. None of the listed loads were maximum in this rifle, but should be approached cautiously in other rifles. Loads listed as good to excellent accuracy are adequate for varmint shooting in .223 ranges. Other loads are OK for jack rabbit and chuck-sized varmints at no more than 125 yards. (Rifle Issue #125 - September, 1989) |
