.220 Swift Maximum Loads

Warning! Notes: Ruger Varmint Model 77, 26-inch barrel, Winchester cases, Remington 9 1/2 primers, Oehler Model 11/61 chronograph with Skyscreens, average of three, three-shot groups.These are maximum loads in Porto's rifle and may be too hot in other guns. Start well under listed powder charges. None of the three 55-grain bullet loads gave consistent accuracy. Fliers brought several groups to two inches. These were the hottest loads tested.
